Dry van shipping is the most common method for transporting freight across interstates. It does not need to be temperature-controlled and is designed to carry freight that is loaded on pallets, packed in boxes, or otherwise secured within the trailer. Because of this versatility, dry van trailers are ideal for shipping nearly any type of goods or equipment that fits within certain size and weight limitations. Having established relationships with hundreds of carriers all around the United States, we will make sure you are provided the best service possible at the most cost-effective rate.

Flatbeds/step decks are usually requested to ship items that are too tall, wide, or heavy for standard freight shipping. A standard flatbed is a 53’ long and 102’’ wide open trailer, with no enclosures or doors, so it can be loaded and unloaded from the top, sides, or rear. Tarps are often requested with these types of trailers, and they’re commonly used to ship heavy loads including machinery, lumber, steel products, and construction equipment. Step Deck Trailers, also known as drop deck are very similar to a standard flatbed trailer. However, these trailers are ideal for moving equipment that is above the legal height. Step Deck trailers are also useful with ramps to load equipment that can be driven onto the trailer. Step Deck (Drop Deck) can carry freight up to 10’2” high.
For clients having delicate, sensitive, or high valued freight that must be fully weather protected, but can’t be hauled on a Dry Van, IGT is suggesting using CONESTOGA trailers. A Conestoga is a special type of flatbed, that has build-in sliding tarps. This type of trailer is often requested by shippers who want their product to remain weather protected, but can’t be touched by tarps. Upon properly securing the load, the driver doesn’t cover the product with tarps, but simply moves the sliding tarp system over the trailer in a matter of seconds. This type of equipment saves time during freight loading and unloading, for both drivers and customers, and is the safest solution for hauling flatbed loads.
